This is wrong. Trumpism is a cult. It will die when Donald Trump dies whether he wins 2024 or not. We might as well win 2024, as there won't be any long-term benefit from him being defeated. The GOP base won't be chastened. It won't think it was wrong. It won't see the light.

Donald Trump can win an election framed by the question, "Is Biden doing a good job?" He cannot win an election framed by the question, "Do you personally like me and the way I've behaved the last 4 years?" Trump will make it about the latter question. He can't help himself.

In RDS, we have a normal dude with no baggage who is solid on all the issues Republican voters claim to care about. If the base chooses the obese cult leader who lost to Biden instead, then 4 more years of Biden is exactly what's needed to teach the base a lesson.

Kari Lake's loss was a great blessing because MAGA can't make any excuses. Lake was a fine candidate except for being a Trump fangirl. She is charismatic and telegenic. Katie Hobbs was dislikable and didn't even campaign. She proves that Trump is poison even for a good candidate.
