It occurs to me today that I have had many a bonding experience in IT that involve a problem, food that diminishes slowly (and gets cold) as the hours go by, and eureka-moments sometime after 2am. I've made/met lifelong friends this way.

I know I'm weird, but I miss the inconsistency of travel more than just about anything else over the past year+. That... and AVIS sent me an email today with a summary of "you've rented 0 cars, gone on 0 trips, and have 0 AVIS points!". Thanks for twisting the knife, AVIS :-D

True in 2015 and still true today: If you find yourself in a situation where you are considering using private vLANs (PVLANs), you're made a misstep somewhere else in your design. PVLANs may be an answer, but they are never the correct answer.

I'd love to see the end-to-end analysis of the SolarWinds hack... but regardless of the details... this should be a strong endorsement for end-to-end encryption for everyone, always. Easy to say, hard to do (especially with man-in-the-middle, etc.), but we're overdue for change.
