Please remember, fireworks are prohibited in Windsor Heights. "Why does the City allow sale of fireworks if they are illegal?" Iowa law and a Federal Court case say the City cannot prohibit or ban the sale of fireworks. You can read more about this at ow.ly/roiT50JFiB4

The Windsor Heights Police Department and the Windsor Heights (Iowa) Fire Department helped with a Guns and Hoses Donut Drive to raise money for Easter Seals this morning. Paramedic Dumermuth, EMT Merseal, Offc Johnson and Offc Palmer helped collect over $4,000 for the charity!

WHPD has been made aware of a social media post during the past 24 hrs referring to suspicious behavior at Walmart on 73rd. Neither the WHPD nor WalMart received any reports related to this post. There was also no unusual police presence at WalMart recently.

UPDATE: The Polk County Attorney filed charges against Jackson Castonguay in relation to the residences struck by gunfire in Windsor Heights. Charges include Intimidation with a dangerous weapon, Criminal mischief, and carrying weapons. tinyurl.com/wm6qs5n
