Today APHA’s CEO and the UK's Chief Veterinary Officer welcomed the Director General of the World Organisation for Animal Health (@WOAH) to a special event at APHA Weybridge celebrating the UK's work on #AnimalHealth to mark WOAH's centenary. @DefraGovUK #WOAH100
I had the chance to catch up with H.E. @AskarAbdrakhman, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to International Organizations, in Paris. We talked about the fruitful & long-standing collaboration between Kazakhstan & @WOAH, esp. through WOAH's sub-regional representation in Astana.
At the EU-AU High-Level meeting on Health in Brussels today, we discussed the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. We must adopt a One Health approach to such issues that impact humans, animals, and the environment. Thanks to @EU2024BE.
In a meeting with @Corina_Calugaru, we were able to have a very constructive discussion on the partnership between Moldova and @WOAH, and about the need to strengthen the capacity of Veterinary Services.
This partnership between @WOAH and @CITES will not only contribute to safe international wildlife trade but also help promote the implementation of a One Health approach that ensures collaboration between relevant sectors and disciplines.
This week, I'm at the Quadripartite Executive Annual Meeting (QEAM) in Nairobi. The Quadripartite, @WOAH, @FAO, @WHO & @UNEP has gathered to discuss how it can further enhance its policy impact and mobilise sustainable resources to support #OneHealth implementation at all levels.
