What the IDF did to al-Makka and al-Mushtaha towers, today, is not new. They did the exact same thing with the al-Jalaa Tower - which housed the Associated Press and other local and international media - four years ago. This is no strategic reason for demolition; it's a message.

Since it's trending, one of my many quirks is that I've always adovcated the DoD name being reverted to the Department of War, simply because it's the most honest description, and maybe we'd be more critical of how much money we shovel to it if it was accurately named.🤷🏾‍♂️
