Spring #WildPollinatorCount starts this Sunday! It's the last chance to contribute for a while, we're taking a break after this count! @KarenRetra @TheBeeEcologist #ozpollinators #ozinverts #citizenscience wildpollinatorcount.com/2021/11/08/spr…
The NSW parliament is getting behind the spring Wild Pollinator Count! Why? Because they know just how important it is to understand and conserve our pollinators, some of which are under threat. So, please get involved between 14-21 Nov wildpollinatorcount.com
If you've contributed to #WildPollinatorCount before, please do our survey to test your ID knowledge! It's good practice for the upcoming spring count, and it will help us verify our data! #citizenscience #ozpollinators @TheBeeEcologist @KarenRetra wildpollinatorcount.com/2021/10/12/how…
It's almost time for November #WildPollinatorCount! We'll be taking a short break after this count to publish our data so far & focus on other commitments🌺 In the meantime, we'd love you to do this short survey testing your #ozpollinators ID skills!🔎🐝 wildpollinatorcount.com/2021/10/12/how…
It’s almost time for another pollinator count. But before you get counting, please complete our survey to help us assess the contribution this count has made to understanding our pollinators over the past decade.

Bees, flies, butterflies, birds, even bats will transport pollen between flowers. And they even move pollen among plants that don’t typically need them (I.e. wind pollinated plants). Find out more about who our wild pollinators are with our new factsheet.

Misleading headline on a story about a single commercially bred introduced bee species and a noxious weed. We don't know how populations of hundreds of native bees (and other pollinators) are faring, probably not so great in some areas.

A common outcome of this is that territorial researchers anonymously reject grants they review in their field, making sure there is less overall funding for the field they are supposed to have an interest in.
Received an email from someone I've never met who has previous experience with a system I've recently started working on. It basically told me to back off or include them in the project. No one owns science, let alone a species or system, regardless how much experience they have.

Happy National Wattle Day. Remember that if you are feeling the affects of hay fever at the moment don’t blame the Wattle... it’s more likely to be caused by other tree pollen (Pine and Cypress Pine) in #Canberra. @ANBG #NationalWattleDay
