When I teach professionals, I sometimes put them in groups to discuss and take notes. I specifically name that women are overwhelmingly called upon to serve as recorders, so I ask that every group assign a man to do this. The reactions are *wild*. Regularly, one man makes a 1/x

With my mother. Daddy’s funeral. He wasn’t assassinated because he wanted his children to be judged “by the content of their character.” But for dismantling racism, poverty & militarism. He wanted corrective measures to eradicate racism, not the delusion that it doesn’t exist.

Should Scholastic use their money, power, and reach to advocate for legislative change at both state and federal levels? Yes. Should people be more understanding when they are adhering to current state laws in a way that saves teachers/librarians from being fired? Also yes.
