I sat my novel to the side for awhile and started my new novel. I've been querying Mirror Man with no positive results and sadly when I go back and look at it, self-editing should be outlawed. I suck. Does anyone else suck at self-editing?

I'm actively querying my novel Mirror Man. I feel great about my book! All the editing is done the rewrites are complete. It's almost sad this journey is over. But I'm praying to see Mirror Man published soon.

Do you save every revision of your novel? I save by chapter and then by the edit. Or do you just save one file as you write?

Getting back to the new normal here in Louisiana after hurricane Ida. Power's back, internet is back, school's are still shutdown and the fight with insurance companies have begun. But, we all survived, with no injuries, thats what matters.

So I'm curious, has anyone been editing their book, (the writing is done) and decided to change the title? I'm in that position and I'm torn. Is it a good idea or not? Maybe a subtitle? Any thoughts?

I'm really looking forward to two weeks in Colorado editing Retribution. The hard training is over and the race is not until August 21st. Until then, I can relax and finish my last edit.

I will be in Leadville CO 2 weeks before the race to acclimate. This should give me time to edit my second novel, Retribution. Then, it's the heartache that comes with querying an agent and publishers. The joys of writing.

Im still in training mode for the Leadville 100 August 21st. I'm planning on finishing the editing of my second novel Retribution shortly after I finish this run, and hopefully start querying again.

My dad just released his book, Nuclear Sleepers. The story of a terrorist leader trying to create a nuclear wasteland on the east coast. His dream is to have an insurgent working in each of the nuclear plants along the east coast of the United States. Avaliable on Amazon.

So, how many rejections before you need to rethink your query or your novel? Any advice at all would be appreciated. I'm tired of reading, "I'm not the right agent for your particular novel. Good luck." I'm querying agents that represent my genre. Confused!

Thanks to Covid-19 and quarantine, I'm nearly finished with another edit of my second novel, Retribution. I believe this may be my last edit—time to find an editor.

Starting day two of quarantine. I tested positive for covid-19 Friday afternoon. So far, my wife and kids show no symptoms. They are waiting to get tested on Wednesday. I had no clue I had it. I thought my allergies were in overdrive from all the pollen.

Here's a question I never thought I'd ask, do you indent your paragraphs? It seems many writers have different views on indentation. Just curious.

My novel starts in first person. The reader is reading my Mc's journal. The main story is third person. A friend advised me against starting my novel this way because first person is usually a put off by publishers. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is that true?
