Check out my new article in The Atlantic on worshiping work! theatlantic.com/culture/archiv…
@WorkPrayCode Note: #climatechange is being caused by the same 3-4 billion non-contributing #bullshitjobs that also allow #covid19 to spread and mutate. "Employing as many people as possible" is the exact opposite of an economy. And of economizing.
@WorkPrayCode You do realize that most "coding" jobs are #bullshitjobs? Developing SEO tools, writing the 250th "clash of clan"-clone for some micropayment revenue. Or working for a 750-fold redundant cloud hoster or domain registrar. It's all systemic and/or redundant and thus #bullshitjobs.
@WorkPrayCode This is naive. Companies are bringing more 'perks' into the office so that employees stay at work longer. Bring your dog to work so you don't have to go home to take care of them; use the company gym so you don't need to leave work, etc. HR only protects the company's interests
@WorkPrayCode Nice! I'd love to share my dissertation some time - I got into the Bataillean/Nietzschean dimension of SV founders (ie Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Burning Man not mindfulness and HR)...and how that ties in with the AI/rationalist community...
@WorkPrayCode @RichardSpeaks24 Anything which takes God's place in our loves, lives and following becomes an idol, which is what work has become. Work sets you free was posted at a prisioner of war camp in WW2 with the only freedom being death. Work is being abused as a tool of social control.
