A rare Thursday night council meeting as Fort Erie councillors are getting together tonight to hear about a proposed 90-unit development in Ridgeway. It starts in fourish minutes and I'll be covering if.
No idea how much I'll tweet, but follow along if you want.
There's a large crowd in attendance, mayor starts off by explaining what the public meeting is. Namely that developers are free to make an application and councils must deal with them in a timely fashion. Tonight's meeting won't see a decision one way or the other.
Nearly an hour and a half in and the proposal has not received the warmest of receptions...and we haven't even got to the residents yet. Council still asking questions.
We've made it to the resident speaking portion, and - shocking - it's all opposed. Kudos to those in attendance for maintaining decorum.
These types of meetings can often devolve into yelling and ugliness. So far that hasn't been the case.
