I also feels like his also showing his respect to Jay in the new commercial. They both are getting old and doing other business adventure, but they love music so much. I remember Jay Z doing a commercial like this. Both of them define hip-hop culture in their own significant way. One from the north where hiphop was born I believe in Harlem and the other from the south which were the underground who took over the sound for decades. Both style and culture is important. Both of these GOATS š are in my top 5 list currently. The list does changes at time which is fair. A true hip-hop head knows that your personal GOATs evolve as you revisit old tracks, discover new meaning, and see how these artists grow.
Jay-Z did that kind of thing with the Samsung commercial and even more subtly in some of his later work and visuals, where he blends business, art, and nostalgia. When another hip-hop legend mirrors that style today, it can absolutely be seen as a respectful tip of the hatānot competition, but solidarity.
