it's actually completely understandable that some would say that having DID is chill or not that bad - I would consider not being aware or in touch with the worse parts of the disorder a key part of 'extreme disconnect from trauma and stress disorder'

our therapist said that they feel we are closer to the osdd end of the spectrum when it comes to some of the definition we have between parts and that while this doesn't have any bearing on treatment -
ppl b talking about the whole 'system with in a system' or 'alters within alters' thing and I'm just like. ok well that doesn't apply to me. I just have departments in my brain and the department has a most commonly fronting alter who's most applicable to most stuff
'do any other polyfragmented systems split to cope/only deal with stress by splitting' polyfragmentation happens BECAUSE you didn't develop any other way to deal with stress besides dissociation. it's a feature of being polyfragmented, not some strange coincidence

People snap at their kids all day, they yell, use sarcasm, and overreact… but the minute the kid responds similarly… Adults are threatening or using violence. Too many parents believe only adults are able to be disrespected but y’all disrespect kids every day, it’s awful.
I think one reason for the recent spike in "puriteen" discourse is while Queer representation is making waves in kids' media, there's still no LGBTQ+ history taught in schools & anti-trans groups are spreading misinfo. So teens are taking mass marketable LGBTQ+ content to heart🧵
