Congratulations to all Afghans on our 106th Independence Day! We commemorate today King Amanullah Khan and our ancestors, who in 1919 proved that Afghanistan would never be conquered by foreign powers. Their victory was a victory of dignity, solidarity, and the Afghan nation's right to choose its destiny. But now our sovereignty is again challenged. The Taliban serve foreign agendas and Pakistan’s proxy war, not Afghans. Women are silenced, girls' schools remain closed, and terror reigns over our nation. But Afghans are not defeated, resistance voices ring out throughout the homeland and diaspora. It is a call to action day. Let's reclaim together the freedom of 1919 and secure it for generations to come. Afghanistan belongs to Afghans and Afghans alone. Let’s raise courageously as at the end our future will be made by us, and us only.
