The earthquake in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces has exposed a critical shortage of women doctors and nurses to care for female victims. This dire shortage is a direct consequence of the Taliban’s oppressive gender apartheid policies, including the ban on girls attending schools and universities and the harsh restrictions on women in the workforce. As a result, countless women are now at grave risk of being denied essential medical care and life-saving assistance. #KunarEarthquake
