Think of that scene in Mockingjay part I, when they show Peeta on the television screens in 13 for the first time. The way the crowd booed, the cries of TRAITOR. Especially when SAI came around. No wonder why he seems to isolate during Paladin.

dog. It would make sense for some of the Banditos to not trust Clancy, to nor understand why Torchbearer is trying so, so hard to save him. Why him? Why the Dema puppet? Why Nico's favorite? Why save him? He betrayed us. He went back to them. He's too /weak/, too susceptible.

No but it would make sense. The Rebels inside of Dema saw how Clancy fought and what he did for them. The Banditos never saw that. They just saw some dude who kept escaping only to fall back into Dema's clutches again, and again, and again. Always returning like an obedient
