Community Health Centers throughout Florida are visiting Tallahassee today to express their concerns and ask legislators for support of increased PPS Rates to close the gap between the cost vs reimbursement per patient visit.
March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness month. According to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in the US, and there will be 154,270 new cases of it this year. It can be prevented with screening.
According to the World Obesity Federation, 1.9 billion people will be obese by 2035—that is, one out of four people. Obesity is linked to diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Community Health Centers provide programs and services to assist people on their weight loss journeys.
A healthy smile is a happy smile! For National Children’s Dental Health Month, we want to take time to highlight the importance of developing good oral habits at a young age. Be sure to visit your local community health center to see if they provide dental services.
Valentine’s Day is about love – and what better way to show it than by giving back? This National Donor Day, remember that the gift of donation isn’t just for hearts, its for lives! Be sure to spread the love today by donating blood.
