After a fascinating day of varied and vibrant discourse it's now time for co-Chairs Julian Glover and @nickherbertcbe to draw Future Countryside 2025 to a close. Thanks to everyone who's taken part, in the room or online, and especially to our hosts at @ChatsworthHouse.
Time, knowledge and mentorship are the most important gifts we can give the next generation, our panel of young people concludes.
Panellists are now taking questions from the floor on youth engagement. Social media platforms can be leveraged for communicating with that audience along with more traditional methods, such as presentations in schools and integrations with universities.
Our panellists in this session from @McDonaldsUK young farmers and the @peakdistrict Youth Impact Collective are discussing how to inspire young people to visit, experience and grow to love the countryside.

A really excellent day @_FutureCountry conference (aside from universal worries about the next spending review). Michael Gove gave outstanding honest account of his time as Sec of State and the challenges of government. On now to a few articulate youngsters sharing their views.
Emily Norton of @AFNnetwork is leading this last main agenda session on young people's views of the countryside. Polling for Future Countryside found 91% of those who had outdoor education said it left them with a positive view of the countryside. futurecountryside.org/future-country…

This session between @TraceyBleakley and @fionacreynolds has certainly prompted some discussion and challenges from delegates on social prescribing, evidence, embedding through the wider NHS and health outcomes in the farming sector.
We now have @TraceyBleakley in conversation with @fionacreynolds on how the natural environment can improve health outcomes. Spending time in nature is as important to the welfare of humans as it is to other animal species, she argues.
