Imagine living in a home and there being parts of the home designed to be inaccessible to you? I live in such a place and I can tell you it literally strips it of the meaning of the word home. Imagine it's your kids in second bedroom? I mean who is cleaning? What if sick?

Wheelchair users occupy less vertical space and more horizontal space than bipeds. Thus we require less vertical space and more horizontal space - to exist, to move, to store, to do a puzzle, craft, sew, cook, bake, eat, watch TV...LIVE. We have a right to LIVE. Give us space to.

1. Yes I completely agree we need to talk more about the (un)liveability of below market units. 2. You should follow me because I talk about this a lot. 3. My 'wheelchair-adapted' apt has less space at foot of bed. Imagine me trying to make bed. Accessible is part of liveable.

Tonight, Burnaby council unanimously supported a motion calling on the Canadian government to support a ceasefire in Gaza. I have heard from people in the community who are pleading for elected officials from all levels to speak up and take a stand. Canada must act now.
