NHS doctors still earn £18.62/hr. They’re asking to move to £22.67/hr over time - fair & reasonable. Yet even the overtime reforms Wes Streeting promised last year to keep shifts paid fairly haven’t been delivered. If old pledges are broken, why should new ones be believed?

At King’s College Hospital, doctors said they’re being forced out of the NHS as they can’t get training jobs. Unemployed doctors, no training jobs, pay too low to support their families. Patients wait months for care while politicians look away. What is happening to England?
England is 40,000 doctors short of the EU average. Yet fully qualified doctors are unemployed, some driving Uber to get by. Waiting lists remain at record highs while government policy blocks doctors from working. This is political failure on an industrial scale.
At St George’s hospital today, I spoke to a doctor who had always dreamed of being a paediatrician. They couldn’t get a training job here. Next week, they start work in New Zealand. We’re driving away doctors while patients wait months for care. This is the NHS in 2025.
Spoke to all doctors at Hammersmith and Queen Charlotte's Hospital. Doctors were as worried about job security as pay. However, many doctors don't trust the government to deliver on non-pay issues. A multi-year pay deal to FPR remains the simplest way to resolve the dispute.

The government is talking about a multi‑year pay deal from 2026/27 and non‑pay issues, yet it has already failed to deliver on a key non‑pay commitment: reforming exception reporting. If the government fails to offer anything substantial, we must escalate to industrial action.
