IOM has equipped Sudan's Ashkeet border crossing with passport readers, laptops, magnifiers, and light detector lamps to support the General Directorate of Passports & Immigration. This initiative, funded by Japan, enhances humane and organized border crossings for returnees.

🚨Escalating violence in North Darfur is forcing thousands—mostly women and children—to flee their homes. IOM & partners DOFDAHR & SORR have provided emergency shelters & critical relief supplies, supporting over 11,000 newly displaced individuals. The fighting must stop!
Over 400 buses carrying around 20,000 Sudanese nationals returning home from Egypt arrived this week. IOM is on the ground, working with HAC & border authorities at the Argeen & Eshkeet crossings, assessing needs & providing medical, food, transportation,& psychosocial support.
Community kitchens, known as ‘Takaya,’ are a lifeline for thousands in Sudan facing famine & ongoing conflict, offering food & vital support. In #Khartoum, IOM is partnering with these kitchens & local organizations to enhance response efforts & reach even more people in need.
Sudan's humanitarian crisis continues to worsen. Funding for #Sudan is drying out. Humanitarian actors are either scaling back or shutting down. Vulnerable communities bear the brunt of unimaginable suffering while their homes turn to rubble. The world must not look away!
