Impossible to comprehend the strength it takes for a mother to hand over her child like that to a stranger, with absolutely no guarantee of a safer life for that child, with no guarantee of seeing her child again, but left with no choice. What a fucked up world.

60 years ago today, assisted dying was officially banned across England and Wales under the Suicide Act. Soon, we will look back on the assisted dying ban as a relic of the past, but until then terminally ill people like David will continue to suffer.

No sensible person could fail to see the the justice in making it safe for people to have the opportunity to plan the time of their dying together with their family around them, at an opportune time, much nearer to the end of their lives.
