yesterday we saw why knowing and optimizing your product is super important.. today we'll be looking at the flip side of the coin Knowing Your Audience. knowing and optimizing your product is one half of setting a good marketing foundation; knowing who your audience is or should be is also a non negligible part of setting that foundation. .... what you want to do at this point is to put yourself in the shoes of the people you want to reach or the people that are already a part of your community as the case may be.. you want to understand their desires, pains, motivations, frustrations, all that stuff.. the key to convincing someone is not you or what you want; not even what you think they need.. it is your audience and what they actually want as simple as that! i’d recommend reading Dale Carnegie’s 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' (p.s: most business and marketing books today are pretty much offshoots from this book).. .... approaching marketing solely from the pov of the project is a sure ticket to failure, take it from me! yes, you might be able to send out a clear message about your brand and all that.. but that message will not convert if it is not tailored to fit the audience you are targeting. .... in a nutshell, learn and study everything about your target audience then adjust your messaging to suit their wants and desires without cutting out the core message or value proposition of the project. .... once again, i’ve drafted out a couple of questions to guide you when it comes to knowing your audience: 1. Who has the problem your product solves? 2. Where do they live (what platform can you reach them on)? 3. Do they know that they have that problem? 4. How are they solving that problem? 5. What are the limitations to the current solution to that problem? 6. What type of content do they enjoy the most? 7. What channels do they run away from or what type of messaging do they dislike? .... when you deeply understand your target audience it becomes a whole lot easier to curate marketing strategies to reach them and ultimately convert them to users.. so. knowing and optimizing your product + knowing your audience + the right messaging + the right channel = marketing success i hope this helps you get the best out of your marketing process kindly like retweet and let me know what you think about Knowing Your Audience in the comments below also if you enjoy content like this, do well to hit the follow button and turn on my post notis so you wont miss regular updates from me see y'all at the top🫡
