This is the actual diagram from the 2001 SMTP proposal (RFC2821). I love how simple it is. The proposal uses basic English and draws on a mailbox analogy, making it easy to understand. The engineers who embrace simplicity are the ones who shape the internet.

As AI continues to devalue the skill of writing code by hand, what aspects of the stack should builders invest in instead? My answer: → Brand (building an audience) → Architecture (adding constraints to AI code) → learning AI (so you can build more atop it) What's missing?
