People with chronic illnesses will have stomach cramps, headaches, joint pain, muscle pain, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and more every single day... and still act completely normal in public. Remember you never know the pain someone may be in just by looking.

the idea that people are faking severe chronic illnesses en masse for attention is hilarious to me because anyone with severe chronic illnesses knows that you lose like 95-100% of your friends once you become too sick to fake being well 24/7

My biggest advice to other young journalists is root for each other. There’s room for all of us, even when sometimes it doesn’t feel like it. Your time will come. Someone will take their chances on you.
