Nobody here is normalizing abuse. That video of Cassie getting attacked was sickening. What Diddy did was foul and inexcusable. But calling out inconsistencies in how justice is handled after a legal settlement is not the same as saying she’s not a victim. You can acknowledge someone’s pain and still hold the system to a standard of fairness. We can’t scream believe women and then ignore how the process works when we don’t like the outcome. Cassie was believed. She told her story and the world responded. She got a massive payout and Diddy’s whole empire crumbled. That ain’t silence or dismissal that’s real-world consequence. But what we not gonna do is weaponize the word victim to shut down any critical thinking. Supporting victims also means demanding a system that works properly not just emotionally. That’s not abuse being normalized that’s justice being respected.
