You don't need AGI to disrupt a high-trust society. You can train AI to be malicious (game theory) for maximum profit. Prison dilemmas build prisons (low-trust society). In fact, you don't need malice. An AI bug can be misinterpreted as intentional (malicious) stirring conflict.
