My therapist just said 'kids are very resilient' and I said 'why do all adults need therapy then?' And she just looked into the middle distance for a bit + seemed to reassess quite a lot of things

Wanna radically improve #mentalhealth? Give people housing. End poverty. Promote food security. Be anti-racist. Fund harm reduction. Offer workers paid sick days. Provide equitable healthcare (especially mental healthcare) to all...Equity IS mental health. 🙏🏽

I don’t know who needs to hear this but housing is healthcare. Housing is dignity. Housing is mental health. Housing is good economic policy. And on this #NationalHousingDay and every day…let’s never forget that access to safe affordable housing is a human right. 🙏🏽

Note to #NS and #Halifax - There is a video circulating that claims a 13-year-old girl's heart stopped due to a COVID-19 vaccination. We have checked on the validity of this claim, and are told there have been no reports to Public Health, EHS or the IWK that it happened. 1/2

We have been operating temporary shelters in local hotels for the past 18 months. People complain about folks experiencing homelessness there too. So this is not just about removing people from public land…it’s about making homelessness completely invisible.

"There is no criminalization of homelessness." FACT CHECK: Two people without a home received fines, which if defaulted, could result in jail time. So yes, homelessness is being criminalized. Kudos to @portiaclarkcbc for her important questions.

Today, the city of Halifax fined people for being homeless, removed shelters on flat bed trucks and threw tents in the garbage. They maced demonstrators including a child. Mayor Mike Savage claims the decision was made in the interest of "health and safety" This is a disgrace.
