Mastodon was trending so I thought I'd check it out again. The page says, getting started with mastodon is easy. The first step is to select a server...there are 100s of them. I have choice anxiety. What if I choose the wrong 1? What if there's a better one than the one I choose?

Health Hazzard is asked about the rich in Sydney being allowed to travel freely to and from their beach houses in the regions, replies that he's asked the police to crackdown in Bankstown and that 95% are doing the right thing but people of other backgrounds aren't.

Bayside now has more cases than Campbelltown had when it was locked down and the number of tests in Bayside is small so likely not picking up all cases.

Hazzard blaming everyone but the government. Blaming locked down LGAs for spreading it to other areas, but other areas are allowed to enter and exit locked down areas for work. A one way lockdown isn't a lockdown.

Hazzard did the politician trick where a journo said contract tracing is taking weeks and is there enough of them, and he twisted it to mean the journo was criticising contract tracers for being slow. no, he wasn't criticising contract tracers at all.

Do they release the number of covid tests per LGA? I'm wondering what the percentage of "+" tests in Penrith is? (ie) the number of "+" is high but I imagine the number of tests is high. Could (eg) Bondi have as many "+" as Penrith but we don't know because low number of tests?

I thought in the usa if during the course of a crime someone is killed, regardless of who killed who, the perp(s) get charged with manslaughter? shouldn't the rioters who broke into the capitol get charged with manslaughter? @legaleagledj

What happens if a presidential candidate dies before the election? youtube.com/watch?v=UzzugW… complicated. I think some people have voted already. Most states have locked in the names on the ballot. Depending on the timing of a death and the results, if would be chaos.

Imagine the difference if as soon as a test was developed, we made millions of tests and tested every traveller. We could still do a Korea now and test everyone in a drive through. I guess we don't have the capacity to make enough tests.

I'm no fan of our government but I'm glad I'm not american. 163 covid-19 deaths today in america, and their government's response so far makes me worried it's going to get a lot worse for them.

Gladys says most cases in NSW are overseas acquired, but I thought they were only testing people who have travelled recently? If you aren't testing non travellers of course they won't appear in the stats.
