Hi, glad to have you here. CS undergrad. Sharing learnings and documenting my journey.

Found this old video of Steve Jobs sharing his views on company culture and I believe every startup must follow this model to build a culture of excellence.

In my last internship I learned that a key factor in a startup’s success is choosing the right people and treating them well. Small teams where everyone is trusted with responsibility work better than expanding too fast with hierarchies.
In my internship I learned comments are crucial and they’re how you communicate your code to others.
But AI code generators spit vague comments, so newbies think that’s how it works.
But you realize their value only when reading good old code, often in open source repos
Currently working with a PDF generation library, and last week I dove deep into drawing borders. It turned out to be one of the most difficult tasks of my internship so far. I even had to look into Chromium’s code to draw perfect borders.
We really do take CSS logic for granted.
Just finished Creative Selection by Ken Kocienda.
It was a great read.
Even Apple engineers faced the same bugs and dead ends as us. What stood out was Steve Jobs's culture, Apple’s focus on detail, and how the iPhone’s touch keyboard came from constant iteration.
Spent the last 4 hours debugging my code to figure out why the test cases were failing. Finally found out that the test case values were wrongly set by the maintainer 🫠🫠
I like languages with fewer libraries and frameworks, where you write everything from scratch and truly understand the core concepts. That is why I love JavaScript.
There is always a trade-off between DRY and abstraction. Sometimes it’s better to repeat yourself than to hide logic behind a complex abstraction you will regret maintaining later.
In the last few months, I have learned that writing clean code is as important as having good communication skills.
Code is how you communicate your thought process.
Went for a walk with @grok voice mode. Asked it about Jurassic Park. Got a masterclass on CGI, animatronics, and skin textures.
Asked Siri to change the song: “Here’s what I found on the web.” 🤦♂️
Why do I even bother?
INR 25,000 per annum 😱😱
If I get this “ON-CAMPUS” offer, I will probably need to hire a certified financial planner.
Might even gift my college a statue made of pure gold after my first salary and use the leftover to eradicate poverty in my city.
Had a terrible experience for creating @Meta business verified account. All errors were vague and were not informative at all.
I had to inspect in network tab to look for error messages myself.
Still not able to complete my verification and Twilio integration.
Strange how I posted the same post two times, and it got deleted by X both times. I don't know whether it was deleted or it's a glitch, but I don't see that post in my profile.
Maybe it's because I tagged some org in that post.
Just finished reading Take the Stairs by Rory Vaden. It was part of my first month internship task, and I highly recommend it. It really changes how you think about discipline and dealing with problems.
It’s easy to get distracted by side features while building your product but if you keep changing direction to fill every idea, you will never finish the core. Stick to the plan. Quality matters more than quantity.
