Today’s React 1 COVID survey results make the strongest case for a phased re-opening of schools to full pupil intakes. A ‘big bang’ reopening on 8th March, with the current high rates of infection and hospitalisation, would jeopardise full and sustained school reopening.

Every child at Eton had a Covid 19 test on arriving at school. I don't begrudge the children of the super rich having access to Testing. However, if it's good enough for the children of Eton, its good enough for the children of East London, of Easington and verywhere else.

Radio news! Children are on average 3 months behind. BEHIND WHO? If they’re all “behind” then who the hell is in front? This reporting is not helpful to anyone. Are you reporting on how far “behind” hospital waiting lists are, or court cases, or MOTs, or or or......🤦‍♀️

.@SiobhanHead we need to listen, empathise and respond to children. She talks about how children have been transformed by working in smaller groups and taking away the curriculum pressures. Schools need to be trauma informed. @CelebratingEdu1 @NEUnion

I have a question for @educationgovuk Today it has been reported that 26% of patients that have died in hospital of covid19 are diabetic. Why are we expecting diabetic staff and children in school on 1st June with no PPE or social distancing? @neu_durham @NEUnion @cyclingkev
