A lesson in life. Call from a colleague today… “Keith, I’ve got a 80 year old man with jaundice and fever from a large 2cm gallstone wedged in the bile duct. He’s on anticoagulation for PE. I just have a bad feeling about him and I think he needs an ERCP today.”

So alam ko na what the issue is about the PGI… well, sana maalala mo na we all started somewhere, I’m sure di ka pinanganak na perfect mag hx/pe at magendorse… at for sure di ka padin perfect ngayon (dahil kung feeling mo eh perfect ka na, good luck talaga…) ❌❌❌

When I took Step 1 the treatment for heart failure was beta blocker and ACEi. Now it’s BB-ACEi-ARB-ARNI-SGLT2-Ivabradine-ICD-BiV pacer. Students today have to MEMORIZE it all for the test plus the outdated stuff like digoxin. And that’s just one disease. Result=burnout.
