Noooooooooo
Hmm as a daily unity user and unity share holder, I don't know whether I would see that as really negative or rather positive. I think unity is on a very dangerous path of uncertainty with all these disastrous decisions and developments in directions that nobody really wants. AI, crazy advertising stuff, runtime fee, cloud service stuff and so on. Maybe an unity under a giant like apple would be more financially independent and wouldn't have to chase wild trends and buzzword shit in the hope that the share price will still rise, but could concentrate on pushing forward a good engine with modern technologies. The Unity 6 - 7 roadmap was full of great stuff where I think “wow unity is back on track” but a huge bunch of it has already been canceled and taken back. Perhaps things would look different under a relatively stable parent company like apple in my opinion - or at least better than Facebook, google or microsoft taking over the engine at some point. But maybe I'm being too naive and optimistic.
@_mikeV6 Whaa. This could be the best thing that ever happened to Unity... But IDK seems like they are doing it for all the wrong reasons.
