Woah, first time getting scammed from a real @ATT employee directly. I only caught this because I got suspicious and started digging Here's what happened...

Middle of the day and I get 3 calls in a row from an unknown number. I assume it's spam, but I also have kids in camp and you know, it could be an emergency. I answer call #4, it's ATT calling, great another sales pitch. "I'm not interested..." and I hang up.

@_mwc @ATT Same happened to me with Spectrum, somebody call me, offered to me a deal on Cable and gave me some information. I thanks him and told I will think about it. I hung up and I a minute I received a mail about a change in my account and a bill for $120🤦🏻‍♀️ Reversed that was a pain.

@_mwc @ATT Likely call center staff at an offshore location getting bonus per upgrade and on target for another promotion.

@_mwc @ATT Thanks. Sounds an awful lot like a series of texts from random numbers I got saying they were ATT. There *was in fact* a phone promotion. We checked by logging in, seeing promotion, verifying with agent ‘we’ called, finalized thru acct (We reported & bypassed the text gambits.)

@_mwc @ATT Similar thing happened to me…not AT&T but a competitor. Employee had been upgrading customers’ plans without their knowledge, or telling them it was a no-cost upgrade like what happened here… Incentivizing customer support to upsell packages has its drawbacks
