Been spending some time working on creating a menuing system that sits on top of my RealityKit game! Seems like this handles all the scenarios I need it to: 1. Main Menu to launch the game 2. Pause screen allow resume 3. Game Over - resume / main menu #gamedev

I have a #RealityKit ARView in non-AR mode in a ZStack with menu buttons in a VStack shown conditionally (isMenuVisible). When I toggle isMenuVisible and hide the menu, ARView animations freeze, though tap/pan events still fire. Any ideas? #SwiftUI #iOSDev

...and I am back to work on the cube maze... tonight I just spent about 10 minutes reviewing where I last left off and am going to continue reading through the code over the next few days to come up with a gameplay to get this thing across the finish line.

So I just spent the last hour fixing one of my pathing issues, turns out I wasn't specifying a valid goal node for the maze, which is a big no-no. hehe. Tonight: I want to refactor the code that places the square tiles on the floor of the maze.

Now that I've got the mesh working with my maze, I've been solely focused this week on making maze navigation feel right. Right now my path logic isn't right, that front face should have a red square in the top-left, not white. For some reason it's skipping the first row. 🤔

Big progress this afternoon. Big! I can now render my RealityKit maze as a simple bit-array! Now I should just be able to take that data and pass it into my maze mesh generator! More on that tonight!

Yesterday, I pivoted to a 2D version of my 3D maze for easier rendering. Today’s mission: creating a bit-array where 0s are paths and 1s are walls! 🧱🔍 Excited for smoother maze building! #gamedev #realitykit

Ok. I'm continuing the refactoring that I started this afternoon. My ultimate goal is to get the maze mesh rendering as part of the game by the end of the week. Tonight mission: Populate my little 2D array with 1s and 0s that represent the maze in RealityKit.
