“CS is just math.” I thought: ok, solve for x like I’ve been doing for 6+ years. But discrete math ≠ continuous math. Continuous: algebra → solve equations. Discrete: logic → if this, then that. CS isn’t about solving for x, it’s about asking what happens next?

Java vs Python vs C++ is like email vs DM vs text: the point is to deliver the message. Early on, execution > language. Later, constraints pick for you: - Low latency → C++ - Fast iteration → Python - Scale/tooling → Java Master problem-solving. The syntax is just a detail.

Private equity doesn’t work in Tech. PE is built on stable cash flows + cost-cutting. Tech is the opposite—volatile, R&D-heavy, winner-takes-most. You can’t “optimize” into PMF/network effects. PE treats a product like a factory. But tech scales on innovation, not efficiency.

The cool thing about DSA is it’s all fundamentals (OOP, discrete math, algorithmic thinking) but also super forward-looking. The same stuff that gets you stuck on LeetCode is what scales up to AI, infra, and all the shiny tech everyone’s hyped about.
