Sorry for the downtime yesterday and this morning. It was DNS. It's always DNS. (well, not really) For legacy reasons (the early days) the production Webi site used a CNAME for another project... the record for which I deleted yesterday. Now it uses its own record.

Apologies for the several hours of downtime today. Although Webi is not strictly dependent on GitHub, many of the installers and binaries are hosted there. A bug in our error handling lead to excessive restarts, which required a manual restart to fix. github.com/webinstall/web…

No, the `xz` on Webi wasn't vulnerable. For two reasons: 1. We never had v5.6.x (xz is an exception to our "official builds" policy - since the authors don't provide official builds). 2. (Almost) all of our builds are static, including xz. The attack was against the linker.

I just found out about @_webinstall. Why isn't anyone talking about it already? Such a great solution for the major problems we have with setups. Simple approach, just a script, with a great delivery with the power of HTTP. C'mon let's spread the word! webinstall.dev
