@awsumpowers OBGYN here. TX is home for me, and where I did my undergrad/medical school. I specifically sought out training in a pro-choice state to learn full spectrum care in order to come back to TX, where I practice currently. I have skills that other OBGYNs who trained in TX recently do

Abortion workers/community organizers deserve space to grieve & feel just like everyone else, but they aren't given that luxury bc the work doesn't stop. The world doesn't stop moving. The people behind the scenes of these orgs need your support too. Solidarity with you all ❤️

2. Keep abortion in the conversation. While amendment 3 addresses barriers for some, it doesn't address barriers for all. Later abortion patients, minors, and low-income communities will see very little changed. Our fight for for access doesn't end at the ballot box.

Other restrictions: 72 hr waiting period, parental consent & notification, & bans on private insurance and Medicaid. In addition to those barriers, we now have a viability ban, forcing those who need later abortion to continue to travel out of state.

What are the barriers? TRAP LAWS( targeted restrictions on abortion providers), such as hospital admitting privileges & facility requirements, will still be in place until litigated.

It fucking sucks that instead of having time to process and feel, abortion funds & mutual aid orgs have to rush to post on social media and send out emails in hopes of funneling some "rage donations" or support to get through the crisis they've already been operating under.
