@aaronbrock_VT presented his research at #ASMicrobe2022. His research examines the structure and biosynthesis of peptidoglycan in Borrelia burgdorferi and how motility may organize that biosynthesis. This information could lead new therapeutic targets for Lyme disease. @jutraslab

@aaronbrock_VT using AFM to image PG of Borellia. Poles are 2-3 times thicker. How and why new poles generated by cell division get thicker? Fla motor mutants lack polar PG and are uniform in thickness. Awesome preliminary data! #ASMicrobe
