Quite bored of foreign policy commentators telling New Delhi what it must do to assuage Washington. We know that already. Why not try telling Washington why and what it must do to save the relationship?
@acorn Really? who are the important commentators in India who told this to Delhi? That's the whole problem - no one does. There are more than enough people in America to criticize US policy. Get your facts right
@acorn Because you offer nothing compared to Washington. They have more to offer India than India can offer the US.
@acorn Quite a few American commentators are critiquing current American policy on India.
@acorn See, the size of India’s economy is (less than) 4 trillion and USA’s is almost 30 trillion. Their per capita GDP is 90000 dollars whereas ours is 3000 dollars. It is we who need to assuage the Americans and not the other way around. Be realistic.
@acorn It’s bad enough these prosperous Indian Americans will not stand up for India using their clout but it’s downright offensive that they deign to advocate India should suck up to Trump like the old brown sepoys!
@acorn US is trying to get both Pak and India away from China. It is being done in broad daylight and none of the FP experts have a clue. This is how it’s done my friend.
@acorn I think India can only do something when the whiplash in US policy settles down. These days there is a new demand and charge every week making it impossible to figure out anything like a coherent policy response.
@acorn People preach only to the rational actor.
@acorn Yep, currently writing a piece about that. Still working out some angles for it. Let me know if you’d be interested in reading the draft.
@acorn The colonial mentality. Massage the master's ego, let them decide what is right for us. Apparently they have not learnt that we are moving into a new era.
@acorn PIO analysts based in the US are working extra hard to convince India like Pakistan to compromise its interests to align with the US interests.
@acorn Lol it's exactly like how people blame India for Pak being a grub and say India must be the bigger person.
@acorn This episode has been a great test to identify the commentators who analysis the relationship objectively.
@acorn The only Washington I care about
