@catmoore Well said. It is also makes the experience unnecessary unpleasant. I never use the extreme negative emotions.
@catmoore Interestingly, this is an intuitive learning technique used by parents with young children ('motherese' etc.). Presumably the exaggerated affective responses aid learning. As you suggest, whilst this may feel right (& improve memory) it may be experienced as patronising.
