Happily renewing my Pro subscription for another month. This past month since GPT-5 came out has been my most productive in a *long* time and after looking at my books I saved way more just by being so focused on stuff I didn't leave the house, forgot to eat, etc.

The immense scale of AI use, combined with AI being a General Purpose Technology that can be used for many things, means that any story of a successful (or failed) AI use case is an extremely narrow view into a vast sea of successes and failures. Don't over-index on one story.
Ultimately if a user wants a browser to do an action on their behalf, they should be allowed An open internet is exactly that: open, instead of requiring hall passes from intermediaries

Something I'm finding handy with AI coding is even when something doesn't work out I can easily ask it to write me notes on all the little parts that did so we can reference it later on.
Maybe it's because I was a sysadmin long before I got into development, and particularly LLMs, but when it comes to vibecoding, are people not containing the vibes? It seems perfectly feasible to use if you plan for it.
Search engine autocorrect is particularly annoying with everything these days being acronyms or oddly spelled names.

Realized I had instructed GPT-5 (via Codex CLI) to fix something that wasn't broken and gave it the wrong setting name, it double checked me, caught my mistake, realized it was good but did find a deficiency in one aspect of what I was trying to do and fixed that.
