What happens when you put an eclectic mix of 60+ builders, artists, storytellers, and the general curious public, all together on a 10k walk... and you don't let them talk about work? It's everything you don't get when you're glued to your phone. It's the opposite of what sucks you into your feed and doesn't let you go. It's the opposite of loneliness. It's being seen, and seeing others, in a curious light. It's a continuous human flow of connection. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. It was a birthday I'll never soon forget. And SO MANY people helped make this possible.
First want to thank my co-founder and birthday mate, @hulloitskai - who made sure everyone was given the water and the ice cream sandwiches they needed to avoid sunstroke. And our circle leaders - @godwinhschan, Bill and Luke. Three people who helped set the stage and curate the curious vibe that serves of the foundation for this whole thing. And @npraval12 - who helped gather content and help out with putting things together. And of course - there's the team from This Is Not A Wendys - including Sophia, Mythily, Gaya, Kiara, Joy, and of course, Wendy herself - who helped transform this human feed of connection into a working prototype of a social media feed for smaller world. Of course, my cousin Juss - who DJ'ed the night in extreme heat, and the owners of Coffee and All That Jazz - who kept the drinks and food flowing in spite of the heat.
