is $4 flat rate per IG reel (15k views on avg) & $2 per story (avg 3k views) a good rate? never done paid faceless ads before😅
for context, my app is in post-relationship/breakup therapy niche. IG account is posting quotes & meme vids about relationships
Day 15/30
Instagram doesn't work - getting 0 views. Accidentally spammed 3 vids at once for TikTok account -> new vids get less than 100 views now.
Retrying with a new account. If I somehow don't start making money before day 25, I might have to come up with a different plan.
Is Instagram rage-baiting me??
I've warmed up this account for 3 days, feed is full of vids that people in my niche would like (fashion), I've interacted with posts, etc.
Today I posted my first video and it got ZERO views after like 5 hours?! Not even my own view counts???🥲

Day 11/30 of building my first mobile app in public
The App Store initial boost is real! 14 downloads so far, with 1 active trial.
This feels better than when I hit 70k users with my last startup! Such a dopamine hit
Excited to post more today, no viral formats found yet!
Day 9/30 of building my first mobile app in public
The building part is done. Time for marketing
TikToks warmed up, first post today. Same for Instagram.
Posting at least 3 videos/day for the next 10 days. Then see what sticks & start mass-posting.
Day 8/30 of building my first mobile app in public
IT'S UP ON THE APP STORE!
If you struggle with picking what to wear everyday, download Drip & try it out for free for 3 days!
Feedbacks are highly appreciated!
apps.apple.com/us/app/drip-fa…
Life hack: Create a path for your TikTok link like /get or /download, use it to display how to get out of the TikTok in-app browser, and then redirect user to your App Store link.
TikTok will not redirect user to App Store automatically!
Example: dripapp.me/get
Day 7/30 of building my first app in public
Not doing great. Apple keeps finding the smallest details of my app to reject, but as a first time app builder, I just have to accept & fix.
Will try to post a few TikToks tomorrow, hopefully I get this app on the App Store soon!
Day 6/30 of building my first mobile app in public
It's happening! In a back-and-forth with App Store review team right now, but I aim to have this app published tomorrow!
Landing page is done: dripapp.me.
Check back in tomorrow for the app link! Can't wait🥹
After 5 failed submissions, it certainly feels like Apple is just nitpicking on your apps.
What's the record time an app got rejected before being accepted to App Store? As a dev, how many rejections have you got?
I'd love to know people's experience with Apple👇
Day 5/30 of building my first mobile app in public
First rejection! It's canonical for the first submission of any app to be rejected at this point😅
Feels great though! This is at a much faster pace than I expected.
TikTok account warmed up, should be posting soon!
Ok @expo, this is just unreasonable.
I've never been forced to wait this long for my app to be built. The longest I've waited is maybe 15 minutes. But over an hour?! This is just absurd!
Has anyone faced this wait time before? EAS is a great service, but not 1-hour-wait great.
Day 4/30 of building my first mobile app in public
Finishing payment today! After that it's testing & polishing before we submit to App Store.
This has been a fun journey - I haven't been this excited since my first startup!
Day 3/30 of building my first mobile app in public
Designing an onboarding flow is harder than I thought!
A lot of big apps have really long onboarding flows, while some have really short ones
As an user, I'd imagine a long flow wouldn't be user-friendly
Do you agree?
Day 3/30 of building my first mobile app in public
Turns out payment is harder than I thought😅
I've been spending all day researching successful apps' onboarding, by the end of today I'll have onboarding all set up, then it's designing time!
We're nearing completion!🔥
Day 2/30 of building mya first mobile app✨
Core features are all done! I'm now working on Auth, paywall & onboarding. Aiming for a submission on day 4 & approval on day 5-6😎
Already starting to warm up TikTok US account. Landing page is 70% done.
🙏Praying for a good launch!
Day 2/30 of building my first mobile app
It's time for setting up payment! Which one is the best for:
- Testing & developing without native iOS simulator
- Ease of use & integrate
My iOS App Store build was uploaded via EAS 2 hours ago, and still nothing shows up on my TestFlight.
For context, this used to take me less than 10 minutes. Anyone having the same issue today?
Day 1/30 of building my first mobile app in public
Finished very basic features today, added auth & storage.
Tomorrow I'm adding paywall using Adapty & onboarding for new users.
What's the best way to implement Adapty? I don't have a Macbook, so Android is the only choice.
