I think UI and UX are easy to confuse because the interface IS the experience, right? But FedEx.com really makes it clear they're different: somehow, the UI is fine and dandy while the UX is abysmal. Like the frontend is ok but the backend is a 1981 mainframe.

Nothing is real. Work isn't real. There's no sense of accomplishment in doing anything. Compensation is insufficient. Every industry is being sucked dry by private equity. Without a sense of security, humans can't make plans and without plans, people can't experience hope.

People around these parts seem to think this was some tech-speculation-fiasco-thing, but it was "a lot of under-insured big savings accounts and a really aggressively inverted yield curve." Any bank with a large number of >$250k accounts could be vulnerable. Maybe any bank.
