I realize this may be how #IndigenousPeoples are referred to in the USA, but it’s time to change that. This term is inaccurate and inappropriate. We expect journals and scientists to #DoBetter. I implore you to correct this to “indigenous people” and set an example.

This is such a refreshing response on the attack in London, ON. Let's stop being surprised that this racist attack happened in Canada. Let's call out that racism and bias exist in Canada and start doing the necessary work to rectify that!

Another example of how a career in research requires a certain level of privilege. NSERC and CIHR undergrad “programs are demanding and don’t always leave room for part-time jobs after hours, so the relatively low value of these awards can exclude less well-off students”.
