In that statement, @RabinaTindale & chief medical officer Magnus Harrison tried to blame the high number of baby deaths on their specialist services which care for very poorly babies. But these figures compare hospitals with the SAME services and SAME poorly babies.

Parents whose babies died because of negligence & neglect at @LeedsHospitals have been sounding the alarm for YEARS. And now this new data shows that Leeds has a baby death rate of *almost double* the average for its comparator group, and 42% higher than the next worse.

In Parliament, I met with constituent Amarjit and experts raising awareness about baby loss. As they pointed out the current scale of baby loss is not inevitable and I support their campaigns to challenge inequalities in our healthcare system to help save babies' lives.
