Due to the costs of running a US based hedge fund, I might not launch mine until I have at least $5-10 million in soft commitments. I don’t come from an Ivy League school, rich family or with the typical connections needed to raise that type of capital. I’ll still entertain investors who are friends and family and see how we can work together while I build the business pipeline required to raise large sums of capital quickly.
