Even with this we have clearly instructed our riders to keep a 4km radius for service and always use a #bicycle only. We follow all #Covid protocols. #Mask, wear #gloves, #sanitize, maintain social distance, facilitate no-contact delivery as much as possible.

#Reliefriders is now there in 8 cities across #India. Let #TN set a precedent in caring for volunteers. With the lockdown the new Government has clearly spelled out that #volunteers are allowed to serve elderly and vulnerable. Thanks much.

Our volunteers will spend for their #vaccination. Issue is not money. In fact we get many offers for #donation/#sponsorship from individuals and companies who are impressed with our #initiative. We have said "No thanks" to them. Issue is availability.

We have done a survey of our volunteers. Here is the summary: - 68% haven't got their first dose of vaccination. - 86% haven't got second dose. - 55% have employer provided Insurance that covers #Covid. - About 10% report they have Covid anti-bodies from previous test.

There is an agony at the end of each call. Here is what we are looking for: 1. #Vaccination for volunteers. Most of us are in 18-45 age group. 2. Periodic #testing of volunteers 3. #Preventive care packages if available 4. #Insurance cover

The change of government also happened last week, and with it some officials also. Which meant the top-officials we talked to before this initiative have moved out. So we need not be hyper-critical but every passing day we are risking lives.

While we were pressing on #safety and pushing for #vaccination, the hospital photos highlighted the exposure we were making for non-healthcare workers like our #volunteers. We said we must do our part right away.

We continuously update it if our callers give feedback on specific vendors or we get new numbers and our volunteers verify them. When our first volunteer visit to a govt. hospital happened, something ran through me.

We called each number to verify and documented specifics about the vendors services including time of verification. Thus we got the extended 108 ready reference with a week - a LIVE excel with verified numbers.

That didn't work. Irrespective of whatever happened to the patient - they were still stressed and emotional. So we decided we will do the verifications ourself. From day 3, our volunteers compiled all #WhatsApp forwards and online sources.
