What Trump wants is for Modi to call him and reconcile full stop. As we know JaiShankar calling Rubio did not work full stop. I know that everyone in India is miffed and upset with trump but right now the nation comes first full stop. Running to our adversary china who helped Pakistan in war against us is not the answer full stop.
@ashajadeja325 India warming up to China rattles you, but Trump on the dining table and in bed with Asim Munir doesn’t raise an eyebrow. Tell me, Asha Ji, are you really that forgiving or just wilfully naive?
@ashajadeja325 Nothing is going to change until Mr Trump and his team learn the concepts of communication and diplomacy. Insulting and patronizing language from Mr Trump and his team would not work with India.
@ashajadeja325 I don't understand why India needs to be subservient to USA?
@ashajadeja325 Hi Mam, is this true? Could it be a reason for your recent posts? Just curious.
@ashajadeja325 No one is running to anyone - it isn't exactly a good idea to 'run to America' who is showing a blatant anti India and pro Pakistan bias - e.g. hosting Munir shortly after the terrorist attack on Indian tourists
@ashajadeja325 Trump has become our biggest adversary abusing India and Indians left right and centre. What would be our motivation to swallow this abuse and go begging? We will obviously fill up the US gap with other countries. It is for the Americans to reconcile with us.
@ashajadeja325 India is not Pakistan, to run around begging for help or reconciliation. Vance and Rubio understand the multipolar world. It is Trump who needs to understand and reconcile with this world order. I hope you state this unequivocally to your DC interlocutors.
The issue is with "what Trump wants.." (Nobel peace prize?) Trump is thinking about MAGA and his promises to the populace of US and then Trump goes coddling with a country which is the epicenter of terrorism. (Pakistan)? What India wants is peace, free trade and growth. To each it's own priorities.
@ashajadeja325 Modi has domestic political compulsions. Trump has to be conscious of them Tolerance for his narcissism has a limit; that has been reached. He can not mouth-off on India affairs and get away with it without any consequences. He has to get sign-off from Indians upfront.
@ashajadeja325 The dreams of Indian Americans are now in the dustbin. The ship has sailed and there is no turning around. Hope you can see it. Future will be 💯 percent transactional.
Indians take immense pride in their national identity, and any attempts to intimidate or demand subservience will be ineffective. It is crucial for the Trump administration to recognize this and adjust its approach accordingly. India and the United States are natural allies, bound by mutual respect and shared values, not by dynamics of dominance and submission.
@ashajadeja325 I don't think US is our foe. We have defense and business tie ups and they are working fine. And let's be clear: US doesn't need us so it's absolutely fine. No hard feelings.
@ashajadeja325 Trump's Tariffs will go down in history as an inflection point for the start point of a new world order, even if it's a long way off. 'Running to China...' as you call it, will give sleepless nights to US in some time
@ashajadeja325 Mam, Perhaps you can import this👇🏼, and find a place in DC to install it?
@ashajadeja325 Mam, Perhaps you can import this👇🏼, and find a place in DC to install it?
@ashajadeja325 India is not a small island nation, a toothless EU or a tinpot dictatorship with a begging bowl like our neighbor to the west. As world’s largest democracy, 4th largest economy and military, nearly a fifth of humanity, India conducts diplomacy based on reciprocity, with dignity.
@ashajadeja325 Madam, as an Indian by origin, you will surely appreciate the notion of "self-respect". As a nation, Mr. Trump (and his minions) has insulted our country in its entirety. And you are still recommending that our PM should call @POTUS to suck up?
@ashajadeja325 A Full Stop is better than painful commas & semi-colons in relationships. Nation first. Make India Great Again.
@ashajadeja325 The idea or expectation that onus on PM Modi to call President Trump not rooted in realism. PM Modi did not start the offensive, is not on TV or social media hurling threats, insults, tariff missiles at America everyday, nor are any of Modi ji’s cabinet colleagues or officials.
@ashajadeja325 But wasn't it Trump who invited Asim Munir to wine & dine at White House, just weeks after the Pahalgam attack by Pakistani terrorists (ISI funded)? How can that sit well with India if its citizens are murdered & instead of taking Pakis to task, Trump is inviting them for wine?
@ashajadeja325 Further, the idea that India is running to China is something Trump advisors want to perpetuate. India and China did not start mending fences after Trump’s Pakistan pivot. Within weeks, Trump destroyed ‘strategic partnership’ with India 25 years in making. India must diversify.
@ashajadeja325 What Modi wants, and entire nation wants is for Trump to apologise publically for calling a terrorist to white House for lunch, calling India a dead economy, that Pakistan produces some good products, making way for funding the terrorists to buy more weapons to destabilize India!
@ashajadeja325 The view that Indians are disposable is often the result of structural inequities in global labor markets and amplified by discrimination, not necessarily an inherent cultural attitude of all Americans toward Indians. @realDonaldTrump & @JDVance need to remove this prejudice.
@ashajadeja325 Right decision at present circumstances by India.
