Sensitivity is a good thing. Having intense emotions is human. Sobbing for no reason means you’re alive. Down days are natural. Irrational thoughts happen. Suffering is an unavoidable. We’re are not machines.

Safe people lack a sense of urgency and a desire to control. They don’t make demands or ultimatums because they value their own autonomy. They know compassion and connection is the way to get their needs met, not coercion.

Because we "know better" and have the tools to be less reactive, we judge ourselves then we become reactive, yell, or say things we regret. In reality, reactivity is an autonomic response and it takes years to break these habit responses.

People have no idea how special it is to be sensitive. To feel a lot. To treasure sentimental moments other people don’t notice. To want the best for humanity and to believe in a new future. There’s a pureness to sensitivity that goes unnoticed.

i really dislike when someone expresses to their partner how their partners actions hurt their feelings and that partner takes space from them in a manipulative way as a means to condition them to never stand up for themselves again.
